If you want to get a sense of chef Brian Gruber’s sense of humor, just look at the menu of his 3-year-old Carlsbad restaurant/bar, Notorious Burgers Handcrafted Burgers & Beer.
The speakeasy/mobster-themed eatery and sports bar boasts a menu filled with clever puns, like the Chokey Cheese (artichoke dip), Hoke Poke tacos (ahi in wonton wraps), Gambino’s broken leg of lamb, Meatball Schmeatball and Right in the Keyster lime pie in a jar.
